POLICY

Terms and Conditions

1. Fees

Fees are paid 10 lessons in advance and payable on the first lesson of each 10 week block

Exam Fees are payable at time of application to Zena who passes it onto the relevant examining body.

Late exam fees are not accepted.

If a student wishes to discontinue tuition, one months notice should be given so that their space may be filled.

2. Absences

Each student is given 3 days grace per year as well as holidays taken by the studio; Christmas, Easter, Summer Holidays etc.

Once they have gone over their 3 days grace, lessons are payable.

In the case of teacher cancelling a class, the lesson will be made up the following week therefore added onto end of ten week block.

There are occasions that classes are changed around, but these are dealt with on an individual basis with sufficient prior notice.

3.Illness

If a student has been off school etc. it is preferable that they do not attend lesson, as working in close proximity can spread illness and have a huge knock on effect for the whole studio.

4. Punctuality

Please arrive to your class at the time given. If you are late, you will be given tuition for the remainder of the time allocated, not over.

If your class is running late, you will receive the full time.

If you arrive early, you may have to wait for your lesson, or in the case that it can be given early, it will only be for the amount of time usually taken, not including the early start time.

If a parent wishes to discuss anything, please arrange a time outside lesson time

5. Photographs

Photographs/Videos may be taken of students from time to time, but permission is sought prior to this and consent forms signed. There is no obligation to allow a students image to be used.

6. Practice

Practice is the only way to progress and adequate daily practice for recommended duration depending on the student is expected.

Parents are encouraged to assist and oversee practice as often as possible.

If a student is not working to the best of their ability, they will be spoken to about how best to manage their practice schedule and parents may need to be notified if no improvement is seen.

Students are expected to have all materials for every lesson; ; books, workbook etc.

Theory homework must be completed each week in sharp pencil ONLY.

CHILD PROTECTION POLICY

Zena Palmer Music acknowledges that the safety and welfare of young people and children is of the utmost importance.

I have completed Children First, Child Protection Training for Music Teachers given by Barnardos in the Royal Irish Academy of Music in 2017.

Zena Palmer Music is all inclusive regardless of class, gender, race, creed or ability and acknowledges that every young person and child needs to be treated with equal respect and dignity at all times, and their opinions and feeling taken into consideration regarding issues that affect them.

Zena Palmer Music does not tolerate bullying, intimidation, any form of abuse or intolerant behaviour toward children and young people.

Zena Palmer Music is bound by Children First: National Guidance for the Protection and Welfare of Children and the Children First Act 2015 to record any matters of concern to TUSLA, the National Agency for Child Protection in Ireland.
